Fun Run...NAWT!

I actually went for my first run this evening. Im so glad the weather was nice and the scenery was beautiful, because the run...not fun.

I realize I need to get over this hatred, but not sure how. I just don't enjoy the pounding my body takes, at all. Today I was trying to be positive, but I reverted back my big question, How can people actually like doing this?

I need to run two miles every day until I leave for the tri. If I repeat the same route the next 12 days, I should be okay. Im so grateful the run on this first tri of the summer season is so short.

April, May...OMG JUNE!

Where has time gone? Signing up for the Redondo Beach Triathlon, didn't seem to be the extrinsic motivation I needed. However, the procrastination adrenaline rush has finally kicked in and Im beginning to get serious about the next 14 days--at least thinking about getting serious. haha

Today's Realities:

  • I need to get to a place where I can tolerate the last leg of the race. I suppose this will be this summer's personal resolution. Maybe tomorrow, I'll have a go. :P

  • I have not been swimming on a regular basis. I know that I can complete the swim, albeit not quickly, nor the way I should, had I been training. Im a tad concerned about the water temperature as the weather in CA has been so cool.

  • I have been better about riding and pushing myself the last several weeks. Guess it's a good thing this leg is sandwiched between the two.

  • I've been using MapmyRide to log my bike ride and just happened upon MapmyTri yesterday. I think I will switch over from ontri as I like the features of the mapping.
Two problems:
1. Fear of not finishing is no longer a reason to get off my butt. I know I can finish the race, even though not as I should.
2. I am neglecting my running because I hate it.
